Who foots the bill?
A Letter to the Editor
Re: Our history begins at home, pg. 1, March edition
I was interested to read about Mr. Galway’s efforts to have Baby Point declared a heritage conservation area. While I applaud his efforts and think it would be a good idea, I wonder about the financing of the project that he thinks is too much for the people involved. If 150 of the 170 households were to contribute $333.33 they would have their $50,000. It doesn’t seem like too much to me if I lived in Baby Point and wanted to preserve my neighbourhood. Why should the city foot the bill?
