Former Town Crier editor launches poetry book

Former Town Crier city editor, Dan Hoddinott, stepped into the Indigo at Yonge and Eglinton on Feb. 19 as a special guest.

The 58-year-old launched his new book, A Thousand Steps From Home, in October and has been touring the GTA’s bookstores to promote his verses that are rife with commentaries about post-modern culture.

“The sorrows referenced here are representative of my muse, though not intended to be pity parties,” he admitted. “They may be sullen but they are truly introspective, taking no prisoners in the examination of self as willingly as in the examination of others who may have contributed to that sorrow.”

Hoddinott greeted customers with a warm Newfoundlander’s smile, as they arrived at the top of the store’s escalator on the second floor.

A Thousand Steps From Home is available for sale at select Indigo, Chapters and Coles bookstores, independent shops, or on his website, www.danhoddinott.ca.
