In the Tunnel of Glam at Yonge and St. Clair

A sparkling tunnel has won the admiration of midtown shoppers who seem to consider it selfie-worthy at least.

The cellphone cameras have been busy since the 80-foot sequin-lined pedestrian walkway opened off Yonge Street just north of St. Clair Avenue on Dec. 1.

The public installation is called the Tunnel of Glam and is filled with 14 million glittering sequins, according to the Yonge and St Clair BIA.

Created by the design firm Studio F Minus, the sequins are reversible, which means you can change their colour — thus affecting the design — by running your hand over them, which both kids and adults seem to enjoy doing.

The Tunnel of Glam is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 1501 Yonge St. until Dec. 31.
