Police have released photos of the missing silverware and distinctive engravings in hopes of the public identifying the stolen property.

Four homes were broken into during the afternoon or early evenings between Dec. 28 and Jan. 3 in the Forest Hill North neighbourhood, police say.

In each incident, several pieces of unique jewelry and family heirlooms were reported stolen. They include a 19th-century sterling silver tea set and an antique silverware set valued at more than $10,000. The tea set is described as having unique hallmarks or engravings on each of the pieces, indicating their origin.
