Police hunting hit-and-run driver
Police are looking for a vehicle and its driver after an elderly woman was struck Thursday afternoon.
The 87-year-old victim was walking along Covington Road behind the shopping plaza on the northwest corner of the Bathurst-Lawrence intersection just before 4 p.m. when the van, described as dark-coloured, reversed out of a parking space and hit the woman.
Police say the driver then fled the scene.
The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
This is the 39th personal injury collision in Toronto in 2015.
