July 31: Join author Fernanda Melchor in conversation at library

Fernanda Melchor discusses her debut novel Hurricane Season on July 31 as part of the Toronto Reference Library’s continuing Appel Salon Programming.

Fernanda Melchor talks with Parul Pandya about the genre of the fairly tale and the Faulknerian traditions of the Gothic Old South that she calls upon in creating the novel.

Hurricane Season offers an atypical take on the narco-thriller. The fast-paced story explores the effects of misogynist violence on a country, a community, a family and individual women.
