THINGS TO DO

Sept. 18: Open house at Central Eglinton Community Centre

Central Eglinton Community Centre, 160 Eglinton Ave. E., is holding an open house Sept. 18 to show why it is sometimes called “North Toronto’s hidden gem.”

From 2 to 7 p.m. you can stop by, meet the staff and have a tour of the facilities. (Like Dr. Who’s TARDIS it’s much bigger inside than it looks from outside.)

Parents and caregivers can visit the afternoon and evening drop-in and learn about activities for adults with babies or children, including the Toy Lending Library.

Adults can discover classes in yoga, Zumba, Pilates, Belly Dance, Tai Chi, Creative Writing, and more, offered during lunch-time, evenings and Saturdays.

Older adults  and seniors can check out programs including current events discussion group, bus trips, Brain Wave II, Lunch n’ Learns, cards & games, stretch ‘n’ breathe, Osteo exercise, Osteo Pilates, knitting group, luncheons and outings.

Free refreshments, draws and CECC membership are available.

Registration is not required.
