East York car break-ins lead to 59 charges

The man was arrested on March 4 and faces 59 charges in a investigation into thefts from vehicles in the East York neighbourhoods of Topham Park, Parkview Hills and Edge Park, police reported on March 12.

Police allege the car break-ins occurred between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28. A man walked onto properties in those areas and checked the doors of vehicles, police say. If the doors were locked, he allegedly broke into them and removed property.

Jordan Cox of Toronto has been charged with 32 counts of loitering and prowling by night, 24 counts of theft not exceeding $5,000, as well as counts of damage to property and possession of property obtained by crime.

He appeared in court on March 5.
