Missing your silverware?

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the rightful owners of approximately 3,000 rounds of ammunition, 35 firearms, other weapons and a large quantity of silverware seized at a Toronto home.

The homeowner was arrested on May 19 following an investigation on a report by a woman who saw her silverware being sold on Kijiji.

Police were unable to determine how the arrested man allegedly came into possession of the items, according to 53 Division Det. Rob Ermacora.

“We believe that there are more victims,” he said.

The stolen items might not all be from the surrounding areas, as they’ve identified some that came from outside the GTA, he added.

Ermacora wouldn’t comment further as the case is under investigation but he confirmed the arrested man doesn’t live in the division.

Donato (Danny) Gualtieri, 37, was charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, careless storage of a firearm, and six counts of careless storage of ammunition.

He is scheduled to appear in the College Park Courts on June 19.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 53 Division at 416-808-5349 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
