Reward offered for TTC shooter

The TTC has announced a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunman who shot a collector at Dupont Station in February.

During a news conference on May 29, TTC manager Andy Byford said he wanted the person responsible taken off the street. Toronto Police were also on hand and later re-released images from security cameras of the shooter.

Police also reminded the public that the February shooting was not the suspect’s first robbery of Dupont, as the individual, who could be male or female, had also robbed the same spot in June and October of 2011, they said.

They chose to issue the reward now because the suspect has struck approximately every four months and this June will mark four months since the shooting.

Cops warn of flasher

A potential sex offender could also be roaming the area just south of Davenport, Toronto Police have warned.

They say a suspicious incident occurred along Ossington Avenue between Bloor and Dupont on the afternoon of May 21, when a man was reportedly following women and exposing himself.

Sexual assault on subway

Police issued an alert about a sexual assault that took place on board the subway.

A 30-year-old woman was on transit in the Yonge and Bloor area at 9 a.m. on May 17 when a man reportedly sexually assaulted her.

The woman did not require medical attention.

Jewellery stolen from home

Jewellery was reported stolen from a home in Wychwood Park on May 20.

A resident of Wychwood Park said between 1 a.m. and 1:20 a.m. on May 20, an unknown suspect entered the home by forcing a window, and made off with the jewellery, police say.
