July 1: Picnic and fireworks at Woodbine Park and Ashbridges Bay

Toronto’s annual Canada Day fireworks display at Ashbridges Bay, 1561 Lake Shore Blvd. E., begin at 10 p.m. on July 1.

The fireworks cap off a day of celebration with the Q107 Canada Day Picnic at Woodbine Park, with live music, loads of food and family fun from noon to 11 p.m.

The picnic features live tributes to Neil Young, Santana, Radiohead, U2, The Foo Fighters, Chicago and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, ending with the fireworks display from Ashbridges Bay set to a Prince tribute.

There is also a selection of beers in the Moosehead Breweries licensed Garden.

Residents planning to attend the fireworks should leave their vehicles at home and use public transit, the city advises.
