South Hill

Wealthy and historically irreverent politically, South Hill is home to some of Toronto’s wealthiest. The neighbourhood runs along the Western edge of Avenue Road and just south of Forest Hill.

Nearby Casa Loma offers a glimpse into this neighbourhood’s opulent past.

Like Casa Loma, Spadina House is one of the last remaining 19th century manors that were built here, both of which have been repurposed into more practical buildings. The community of Rathnelly, named for Rathnelly house and located within South Hill, still celebrates a bi-annual festival marking the brief formation of “The Republic of Rathnelly” during Canada’s centennial celebrations.

Located just north of student-oriented cultural hub of the Annex, for many South Hill is truly an enviable address.

You can get specifically South Hill news from Streeter online by neighbourhood or via the Forest Hill edition. Residents also receive the Forest Hill print edition of Streeter.
