Apr. 11: What makes a book marvellous?

Toronto Star editor to speak at Deer Park Library

Find out what makes a book marvellous on Apr. 25 from 2 to 3 p.m., when Deborah Dundas, the books editor at the Toronto Star, will talk about how she picks the books she assigns for review in the Star’s books section.

Dundas will talk about what critics look for when they’re reviewing a book, what takes a book from mediocre to marvellous, how to break down a book into manageable lines of inquiry, and how to ask questions about a book that will encourage discussion. Everyone is welcome.

The event will be held at the Toronto Public Library, Deer Park branch, 40 St. Clair Ave. E., Program Room, Second Floor.
