Fifty women are waiting to learn to ride, local group says
If you have a bicycle you no longer need, the Women’s Cycling Network could use it.
The network, co-founded by Najia Zewari, leader of Women’s Wellness Café, with help from Cycle Don Valley Midtown, is a group of nearly 100 women from the Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park communities and nearby neighbourhoods who find freedom, empowerment and health benefits by riding a bike.
Today they have 50 women who have bikes and have learned to ride, and another 50 waiting for a donated bike so that they can learn to ride too.
To arrange a contact-free donation, email email@example.com.
Your bike will be matched with a woman from the waiting list.
Your idle bike will provide the welcome opportunity for her to ride it.
