Feb. 25: The science and ethics of using stem cells

It’s men’s night at the monthly meeting of the University Women’s Club North York on Feb. 25 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

The club presents Dr. Janet Rossant, senior scientist and chief of research emeritus at the Hospital for Sick Children, to discuss the science of stem cells, their potential to replace damaged cells in several diseases, ongoing ethical issues and the status of stem cell-derived therapies.

It’s at Bonaventure Parish Centre, 1300 Leslie St., just south of Lawrence Avenue.

Guests are always welcome. There is no cost.
