May 14: South Eglinton residents hold annual meeting

‘Together we can make a difference!’ is the theme of SERRA’s annual general meeting on May 14.

The South Eglinton Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association is holding its AGM at Greenwood College School, 443 Mount Pleasant Rd. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the meeting will start at 7 p.m.

SERRA represents residents living in the area bounded by Merton Street to Eglinton Avenue East and Yonge Street to Bayview Avenue, with possibly the most explosive growth of any neighbourhood in Toronto.

Guest speakers include Ward 22 councillor Josh Matlow, TDSB trustee Shelley Laskin and Toronto Star City Hall reporter Jennifer Pagliaro, who will discuss current issues as they relate to the neighbourhood.

Information booths focus on topics including local developments, tall homes, green initiatives, heritage, Midtown in Focus (a planning blueprint for future growth in the Yonge and Eglinton area), aviation noise, and more.

The South Eglinton Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association has been actively advocating for residents living in rental units, condo buildings, and single family homes within the SERRA boundaries for over 50 years. To find out more about SERRA, come to the AGM and visit online.

Non-members and other interested parties are welcome.
