THINGS TO DO

Starting Aug. 7: Catch a movie at the Fox Theatre again

For months the Fox Theatre has been sporting the message “Here’s looking at you” on its marquee, and maybe now we know why.

Casablanca, the film famous for that and other lines, is to show as part of the Fox Flashback series starting Friday, Aug. 7 when the theatre reopens after its pandemic shutdown. The film will be showing on that day at 4 p.m. (It’s also scheduled for Aug. 9 at 5 p.m. and Aug. 11 at 4:30 p.m.)

Opening the movie house on the first day will Portrait of a Lady on Fire at 12:45 p.m.

Showing in the evening will be The Booksellers at 7 p.m. and Blood Quantum at 10 p.m.

See the full schedule for coming weeks online.

Only 50 seats are reserved for each showing. Tickets may be purchased online at the Fox Theatre website or at the box office using debit or credit, if tickets are available.

Public health measures including masking, physical distancing and contact tracing will be in effect.
