Bayview Art Tour showcases local talent

Avid art collectors and those seeking to learn more about different media of the visual craft toured midtown on the Oct. 4-5 weekend.

Two dozen artists opened their doors at 10 venues for the Bayview Art Tour and Sale. It was the 14th annual event that painted the neighbourhoods of Davisville, Leaside, Mount Pleasant Village and Moore Park.

Board member Margaret Cresswell, one of the event’s many organizers, was eager to connect with her neighbours for the two-day fest.

“The neighbours come by and they look for the yellow balloons every year to know it’s tour time,” the mural artist said.

She and partner David Bagley opened their Walder Avenue home to their work, which included stain glass and paintings.

Other artists featured were Mark Johnson, Susan L. Brown, Joan McGivney, Phyllis Walker, Dianne Secord and Angela Shackel.

Collectors who missed the event need not fret, as the artists do experience most of their sales after the tour. Contact information is available at bayviewarttour.ca.
