Bridal show coming to the Beach

Brides-to-be in the Beach won’t have to look any further than their own backyard as they prepare for the big day.

A hyper-local wedding show featuring area wedding vendors and services is set for Saturday, Feb. 26 at Beach United Church.

Organized by Beach resident and entrepreneur, Dawn Barbieri, the inaugural event will host 25 vendors, showcasing everything from local fashions to florals arrangements and food.

Barbieri, who runs her own business selling decorative pillows and other home accessories, says the purpose of the event is to bring vendors together, but also to show couples that wedding preparation need not be a stressful endeavor.

She said her show will be quite different from the large venue wedding shows.

“From what everybody’s told me, they’re huge … and the brides walk around like deer caught in the headlights,” said Barbieri, who owns Albertine Dawn.

“This is going to be just kinda fun, and more engaging and a bit social as well.”

It’s also going to be a fundraiser, as they will be collecting donations for the Interfaith Lunch program, operated by four local churches.

The show will also feature a fashion show with gowns by Lea-Ann Belter Bridal, as well as fashions from Sweetings, Hildie’s Designs, Titika and Bumbleberry Kids. Music and a performance will be provided by Carolyn T. Michelle Quance Photography is also scheduled to attend.

Pippins Tea will have pastries and wedding tea, while Frolic Flowers is decorating the church with floral arrangements, to be raffled off.

Cosmetics, hair and makeup artists, even a local minister, financial advisor and life coach will be on hand. Brides and grooms can also sign up for a registry at local gift stores.
