3 ways to age gracefully

Aging is a natural process of being alive. If you have lived long enough, you probably remember many milestones like your 21st birthday, when you got married and when you had kids. Although the process of aging is different for all of us, there are still certain things we can all do to age gracefully.

Here are 3 ways to help your later years be some of your best years as you age gracefully.

1. Exercise:

As an Older Adult Specialist and Personal Trainer, I would always start with exercise. Exercise has great effects physically to keep you strong, improving your balance and keeping your joints lubricated, but it has also is great for you mentally.

2. Get Hobbies:

Many seniors I teach and train have busy lives filled with various hobbies and interests. Having interests or things to do keeps your mind active and fresh. If you don’t have any hobbies, find something you like to do and add the activity to your weekly schedule.

3. Eat well:

Eating well not only means making sure you eat a balanced diet with moderate food portions but taking supplements in areas that you may lack nutrients. Also seniors need to be properly hydrated, because as you age you lose the ability to know when you are thirsty which is important especially if you are taking medication.
