All style, no haircuts

When are you going to Do My Hair?

That’s what Deborah McGrath wants to know. As owner of the newly opened makeup and blow dry bar Do My Hair on Mt. Pleasant Road, McGrath is excited to be one of the first high-end, New York-style salons in Toronto.

Experienced stylists give clients the chance to get their hair and makeup done quickly with professional results. Depending on the treatment, style or up-do you’re looking for, you could be in and out in an hour.

“We know that people have close relationships with their hairstylists,” says McGrath. “We aren’t trying to replace them. What we do is different – no cuts, just styles.”

McGrath saw the blow dry bar trend starting in Toronto and decided to try and be ahead of the curve.

“I saw the opportunity to be on the leading edge and I jumped at it.”

Putting her Bay Street business experience to work, McGrath made frequent trips to the Big Apple to research popular blow dry joints before carefully creating her business.

By offering exclusive, high-end products and treatments the salon is quickly becoming the go-to location for luxury pampering.

McGrath says she already has regular clients, which includes members of the frequent dryer club — a customer loyalty program that encourages clients to return.

“We have people come to us all the way from places like the Beaches and Brampton,” McGrath says.

As for plans for the future, the salon’s website, domyhair.ca, points to what McGrath sees as a bright future.

“Expansion excites us … So, we plan to keep this good thing growing.”
