Clients’ full closets were inspiration for business
[attach]6485[/attach]Dag Larsen was studying to become a lawyer when he realized he was bound for a different career path.
Working as a personal shopper and stylist he saw a demand for affordable designer clothing and decided to open a consignment shop.
“I had so many clients who were buying and not wearing and had their closets overflowing and then other clients who were saying, ‘I really want a vintage Chanel bag’ or ‘I really want a beautiful Dolce and Gabbana suit but I don’t feel like spending $2,000 right now,’ ” he says. “I wanted to connect people that way and give them these great opportunities to buy beautiful clothing at a great price point.”
Consign Toronto, his new shop on Yonge Street at Hillsdale Avenue, features contemporary designer fashion for men and women like Zegna, Hugo Boss, Paul Smith, BCBG, Chanel, Prada and Hermès and vintage handbags and scarves by Gucci, Dior and Celine.
Recently he also launched an online store at [url=http://www.consigntoronto.com]consigntoronto.com[/url]. Although he bought the domain name two years ago, he didn’t know then what he was going to do with it, he says.
Since opening, he’s watched his client list grow and has been able to hire a part-time staff member.
“I’m hoping that people love the customer service and I hope they continue to come back and that when they come here they are really finding these little treasures and great gems that they can’t wait to use and can’t wait to wear,” he says.
