A fresh Wynne sweeps across Ontario

Early returns pretty much told the story, in midtown Toronto and across Ontario: Kathleen Wynne was breezing to an easy victory in her home riding of don Valley West and to a majority Liberal government.

As Town Crier staff struggled with sluggish Twitter feeds to get the word out in the rush of the unfolding story of Liberal incumbents also leading in Eglinton-Lawrence, Toronto Centre and St. Paul’s, drafts of delayed tweets have had to be updated before attempting to send them again.

A half hour after polls closed, it became apparent that Premier Wynne would achieve a majority government, and Mike Colle in Eglinton-Lawrence, Glen Murray in Toronto Centre and Eric Hoskins in St. Paul’s would be returning to Queen’s Park with her.
