Boy, 14, arrested for break-in spree

A 14-year-old boy is facing numerous charges in relation to several break and enter investigations.

The accused is believed to have committed nine break and enters between Aug. 16 and Sept. 16, police said in a news release.

All of the break and enters are said to have occurred in East York and Southwest Scarborough.

Police said the boy broke into homes either through insecure windows or by cutting through screens. Cash and valuables were reported taken during the break-ins.

The boy is facing five counts of break and enter and four counts of attempted break and enter. He was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 26.

Because of his age, the boy cannot be identified.
