Whip flab into shape with stint at fitness boot camp

Looking for some extra motivation to lose those unwanted pounds?

Local resident Esther Epp started the latest in her fast-growing Body Boot Camp series Oct. 14 in Lawrence Park next to John Locke Library.

The fun and friendly class focuses on group activities and individual fitness goals.

“What’s so special about working in a group is that you tend to push yourself beyond what you’re used to,” Epp said.

Registration is still open for those in the neighbourhood who want to participate in this four-week camp. The hour-long classes take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings starting at 10 a.m.

Epp said she holds her classes in the park because of the ample room to move.

“It’s a beautiful, wide-open space and it’s so full of nature,” she said.

Anyone is invited to participate in the program, which includes cardio sessions, circuit training, jumping workouts and learning how to get the most out of your diet.

Epp, who holds a degree in human kinetics, is set to open an indoor gym in the North Toronto area where her classes will be housed in January.
