A man avoided serious injury after refusing to cooperate with an armed would-be robber.

Police say the 19-year-old was riding his bike near the Blake Boultbee housing complex in the Jones Avenue and Gerrard Street E. area around 7:45 p.m. on July 5 when a man approached him from behind and demanded he give him the bike.

When the teen refused, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired numerous times at him, before fleeing the scene.

The teen received minor injuries but refused medical care.

Car stolen by screwdriver-wielding thief
A man escaped unscathed from a potentially violent situation in the Beach by following demands.

Police say the 29-year-old man was seated in a car near Queen Street E. and Lee Avenue just after 4 p.m. on July 8, when a man got into the car with him.

The suspect then pulled out a screwdriver and pointed it at the victim, telling him to get out of the car.

After the victim got out of the car, the suspect took off in the vehicle northbound on Lee.

The victim was unharmed.

Teen beaten for his hat
A teenager was attacked by a group of males, who in the end stole only his hat.

The 15-year-old boy was near Jones Avenue and Gerrard Street E. on July 9 around 3 p.m., when an unknown number of male suspects approached him.

Police say the suspects then forced the teen into an alley where he was repeatedly punched and kicked, before his baseball cap was taken. The suspects then fled the scene.

The victim sustained some injuries and sought his own medical attention.

Sex assault near Riverdale Park
A 24-year-old woman reported to police a male suspect sexually assaulted her near Broadview and Bain avenues around 12:30 a.m. on July 9 when.

The victim did not require medical attention.
