Crossing on Blythwood to get upgrade

North York community council has given on April 5 the go-ahead for a pedestrian crossover on Blythwood Road.

The crossover is intended to draw motorists’ attention to the existing crosswalk, which is used by students attending two nearby schools, Ward 25 councillor Jaye Robinson said in a memo proposing the upgrade.

Robinson asked for the pedestrian crossover because she’d received complaints from local residents and parents of students at Blythwood Junior Public School on Strathgowan Crescent about a “dangerous crosswalk,” she told council.

The crosswalk across Blythwood connects the trail between Blythwood Ravine Park on the north side of the road and Sherwood Park on the south side.

It is also used by students attending Sunny View Junior and Senior Public School on Blythwood.
