Fourth man arrested — after two more bank robberies

The fourth man wanted in connection with a series of bank robberies in downtown Toronto and East York has been arrested.

But not until two more bank hold-ups that police believe he carried out on his own.

Together the four are alleged to have robbed four banks between April 19 and April 22. In each case one man was reported to have demanded cash while saying he had a gun, while the other three acted as lookouts outside.

Investigation by the police hold-up squad led to the arrest of three men on April 22 and arrest of a third man on May 2, apparently leaving one alleged bank robber at large.

However, on May 17 and  May 18, two more bank robberies were committed in the Old Toronto area, police reported today.

In each of these latest robberies one man is said to have entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded cash, before fleeing on foot.

The hold-up squad identified the man as the same man wanted for the previous four bank robberies and arrested a man on May 18.

Keith Kellman, 33, of no fixed address, faces 31 charges including multiple counts of robbery, robbery with a firearm, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and failure to comply with terms of probation.

He was scheduled to appear in court the same day.
