Leaside school’s Mayfair fundraiser in its 20th year

Organizers of Bessborough Public School’s 20th annual Mayfair fundraiser expect to welcome more than 2,500 area residents to Leaside on Saturday, May 24.

Attractions will include a duck pond for younger children, a skateboard park and rock climbing wall for teenagers and a silent auction for their parents, along with a barbecue.

“It’s going to be quite the event,” says Mayfair committee chair Jennifer O’Donnell. “The support from parent volunteers and Leaside companies is amazing.”

Proceeds will go toward the purchase of team uniforms, library books and classroom tools, as well as support of a local charity, which students will select.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the event of rain it will be rescheduled for Sunday, May 25.
