Adrian Tidd, 57, has been charged with attempted murder, but other charges are pending, Constable Tony Vella said.

According to Vella, the man was arrested outside 41 Division hours after the incident. Officers believe he was about to turn himself into police when he was arrested.

Vella said officers have spoken with the woman, who was believed to be stabbed in the face or throat. Vella declined to say whether the violent incident was domestic-related, but said the woman and alleged attacker know each other.

Vella thanked witnesses and bystanders in the area who came to the woman’s aid and provided information to police.
