Police warn public following suspicious incident

Police at North York’s 33 Division are alerting the community of a potential sex offender in the area after a suspicious incident was reported at a local library.

Police say a teenage boy reported being approached by a man while at the library. The man began soliciting the youth to become a model, police say, and the conversation became increasingly inappropriate and sexual in nature.

The man reportedly asked the youth to go outside where they continued the conversation in private.

The man identified himself as “Mathew” and police say he continued to ask inappropriate sexual questions. The youth became uncomfortable and left the scene.

The male is described as white, 24, about 5-foot-8, 200-210 lbs., brown, short straight hair. He was wearing a dark green cotton shirt, black shorts and black leather shoes.
