Restaurateur rearrested for sex assault

Owner of Aroma Restaurant lured victims with job ads: Police

The owner and operator of Aroma Restaurant at 1966 Queen St. East has been arrested and charged with sexual assault for the second time in as many months say police.

It is alleged that 43-year-old Jcyk Josefsberg, also known as Steve, sexually assaulted two females in two separate incidents after the victims responded to a help wanted ad displayed in the window of the restaurant.

The first incident occurred in mid-June during a training session after a 15-year-old girl was hired by the accused, according to police.

Police were contacted and the accused was arrested, charged and later released awaiting trial.

Nearly a month later, a second victim, a 21-year-old woman, was allegedly sexually assaulted by the accused during another training session after answering the same help wanted ad.

Josefsberg was re-arrested on July 14 and has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching.

Police believe that there may be more victims and urge anyone with information to call 55 division police at 416-808-5500 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
