Second candidate joins race for Ward 16 seat
Another candidate has thrown his hat into the ring in the race to succeed Karen Stintz as Ward 16 councillor.
Lawyer Adam Tanel filed his nomination on Feb. 10, making him the second candidate, after Christin Carmichael Greb filed in January.
Stintz announced last year she would surrender the Eglinton-Lawrence seat and resign her post as chair of the TTC so she could seek the mayor’s chair in the Oct. 27 municipal election.
She is expected to file to enter the mayoral race later this month, after handing in her resignation as head of the transit commission.
Tanel, who grew up in Bedford Park, lives in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue area. He practises municipal law, criminal law and civil litigation.
