Seniors initiative comes to Deer Park

The Toronto Council on Aging is looking at businesses in the Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue area to see how well they cater to seniors’ needs.

The announcement comes on March 24 after focus groups and a volunteer forum were conducted in the area.

The council is working neighbourhood by neighbourhood to make Toronto a more age-friendly city as part of an effort to be eligible to join the World Health Organization’s age-friendly cities program, according a TCA press release.

The assessment will look at how businesses and services can work in collaboration with the city to make the area more inclusive for seniors.
