Second shooting in Flemingdon Park leaves man seriously injured

A man is in serious condition after a shooting in Flemingdon Park, the second such incident in two weeks.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Don Mills Road and St. Dennis Drive at about 7:30 p.m. on March 7 following reports of gunfire.

After being shot, the victim ran to a nearby library to seek shelter, police told a media scrum on St. Dennis.

There’s no evidence to suggest the incident is related to a shooting that took place two weeks ago at St. Dennis and Grenoble Drive, when a woman was injured, said Allison Sparkes of Toronto Police media relations.

“The investigation is ongoing but police are treating this as gang related,” she said.

According to police, the suspect arrived in a Honda Civic and fled eastbound on St. Dennis after the shooting .

No description of the alleged shooter has been released yet.

Police are looking at surveillance videos from nearby homes and businesses.
