Senior Games spring up in April

With blooms poking their heads through the soil signifying the start of spring, so too does it note the beginning of the 28th Annual North York Senior Games.

Commencing April 14 with the beloved Italian strategy game bocce, Grandravine Community Centre will be the centre of senior games activity.

Tennis will take place April 17–18 and April 23–24 at Oriole Park Community Tennis Bubble.

Carpet bowling will roll into Edithvale Community Centre April 28, and the North York Senior Centre will host both Duplicate and Contract Bridge on April 21 and 27 respectively.

In May, participants will kick it up a notch with swimming May 3, 5-pin bowling and table tennis May 4; badminton May 5; cribbage May 6; bid euchre May 7; darts and pickle ball May 11; 10-pin bowling May 14; chess May 25; lawn bowling May 27 and 3-km walking May 28.

Golf wraps up three-month long battle for senior supremacy June 7.

The games are open to all North York residents ages 55 and up. Masters and Professional athletes are not eligible to participate.
