Stuck in Yonge-St. Clair’s Tunnel of Glam again

Something funny happens whenever shoppers take the tunnel shortcut between Yonge Street and the Alvin Avenue carpark during the holiday season.

They go in one end of the tunnel and they don’t come out of the other end until much longer than it takes to walk the short distance….

That’s because they just have to stop in the Tunnel of Glam and enjoy the trippy designs created out of 14 million interwoven bits of sparkly colour.

Every shot of the tunnel we see has kids and adults running their hands over the changing images or just standing there spaced out by the immersive experience. Or taking their pictures.

The tunnel runs for about 80 feet along the Wally Crouter Walkway. It is open daily from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m.

The work was commissioned by the Yonge and St. Clair BIA and created by the design firm Studio F-Minus.
