St. John’s York Mills Anglican church refreshed, rededicated

Archbishop Colin Johnson was on hand on Sunday, Nov. 2 for a rededication ceremony at the newly renovated St. John’s York Mills Anglican church at 19 Don Ridge Dr.

The two-year, $1.6 million renovation project included refurbishing the main sanctuary, along with new gathering and worship spaces.

The oldest Anglican parish church in Toronto, St. John’s York Mills will celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2016.

New windows, chairs — Angel windows and new pew chairs.

Congregation in sanctuary — The first service in the refreshed sanctuary.

Rededication ceremony — Archbishop Colin Johnson rededicates St. John’s York Mills, assisted by deacon Catherine Keating.

Youth playing hand chimes — Grade school youth play hand chimes in the “Rockin’ Ringers and Chimers”.

Teens and adults play handbells in the Brass Ringers Choir.
