THINGS TO DO

Apr. 19: Gardening for the future

Gardening can result in positive environmental change. On Apr. 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Lorraine Johnson, author of 100 Easy-to-Grow Native Plants for Canadian Gardens will talk about native plant gardens and how they sequester carbon, conserve water and other resources, create habitats for pollinators, birds and other wildlife, how they contribute to food production.

Gardens can be a powerful force for positive change to the environment, our local communities and for ourselves, no matter where they are located or their size.

This is a free program presented as part of Toronto Public Library’s Our Fragile Planet program series. The event will be held at the S. Walter Stewart branch at 170 Memorial Park Ave.
