July 1: Celebrate Canada Day with livestreaming

The city is organizing Canada Day celebrations with morning, afternoon and evening livestream programs of music, dance, comedy, a virtual light show and more on the country’s 153rd birthday.

Torontonians can participate in virtual Canada Day programs from home and download a Celebration Kit with interactive and creative activities for the whole family. Plus, nominate a frontline worker for recognition.

The livestream programs begin on July 1 at 9 a.m.​

Among the programs scheduled are the following:

9–10 a.m. — The Next Generation Leahy Canadian Pancake Breakfast with Chris Zielinski and Mayor John Tory, with performances by Jully Black, the Next Generation Leahy and more.

2–5 p.m. — Kardinal Offishall Culture Jam, a showcase of Toronto artists and neighbourhoods featuring Kardinal Offishall, Ali Hassan, Cris Derksen and more.

7–8 p.m. — Haviah Mighty Ready for Prime Time, an engaging, interactive performances by Haviah Mighty, Gordon Lightfoot, Choir! Choir! Choir! and more.
